Our Staff

All members of our staff are Safety Certified, Background Checked, and Professional Members of USA Gymnastics! 

Stephanie Kemp: Stephanie has been the owner and head coach of Madison Gymnastics World since 1996.  She has coached for 30+ years.  She was a competitive gymnast for 12 years at the State, Regional and National level.  She is safety certified, a professional member of USA Gymnastics, a skill evaluator, and judged competitive gymnastics for 10 years.  She served as a memeber of the Indiana State Gymnastics Board of Directors for over 12 years.  Stephanie is passionate about providing gymnastics and fitness to southern Indiana is a safe enviroment. She has two stepsons and one son, and you will probably see them running around the gym! 

Judy Kemp: Judy works at our front desk. She has been judging women’s gymnastics for the past 35+ years. She is currently the Indiana USAG State Judging Director and has been for 15+ years. She is a National Elite Gymnastics Judge and has judged national championships several times.  She has served as a volunteer at four Elite National Championships, two World Championships, and the Pan American Games. She has three children; 2 that live in Madison, Indiana and 1 that lives in West Palm Beach, Florida.  Judy is being inducted to the INDIANA GYMNASTICS HALL OF FAME in July of 2018.

Paul Kemp: Paul is the owner of Midwest Gym Supply where he supplies major gymnastics meets in the Midwest. His company designs floor plans and installs equipment in new gyms, such as Cincinnati Gymnastics owned by Olympic Coach Mary Lee Tracy, and additionally installs many multi-sports facilities. Paul was the founder of Madison Gymnastics World in 1980 and has coached many individual State Champions and State Championship Teams. Paul still helps coach the competitive teams and is actively involved in Gymnastics World.  Paul is being inducted to the INDIANA GYMNASTICS HALL OF FAME in July of 2018.  

Louise Harpole: Louise was a competitive gymnast for 8 years and has been coaching gymnastics for 20+ years.  She coached competitive teams at Champion Gymnastics in Louisville for 15 years before moving to Madison.  She has coached many state and regional champions.  She has two children; a daughter, currently on our Level 6 team, and a son, who you will often see around the gym.

Leah Gasper: Leah has been involved in gymnastics for 21 years. First as a competitive gymnast and now as a coach. She competed gymnastics all the way through high school & ran track at Indiana State University. She came to Gymnastics World in 2014 from Girls, Inc./Seymour Gymnastics where she was the Program Director and Girl's Head Coach. Leah currently coaches our level 3 & optional teams and is also our director of curriculum. She has coached many state champions and has a passion for working with kids and helping them reach their goals. 

Bailey Stewart: Bailey has coached gymnastics for 5+ years at a recreational and competitve level.  She was a competitve gymnast at MGW from the age of 6 through her senior year and advanced through to level 10.  She graduated from Indiana University with a BS in kinesiology and competed on the IU Club Gymnastics team.  She has always had a passion for the sport and it continues to grow with each new group of young athletes she coaches.  She cherishes and loves the oportunity to teach young girls confidence, work ethics, self-discipline, and awesome gymnastics.

Suzanne Elsen: Suzanne has been involved with MGW gymnastics for 25 years, orginally as a recreational and competitive gymnast.  Suzanne now helps with our competitive team, as well as teaching all levels of recreational gymnastics.  Suzanne has 3 beautiful children.  Both of her daugters are gymnasts at MGW.  Her young son will soon be running around the gym with our NINGA WARRIORS boys before you know it!

Stacy Taylor: Stacy was a competitive gymnast for 12 years at the State and Regional levels.  Stacy has 3 decades of coaching experience.  She is safety certified, a professional member of USA Gymnastics, and judged IHSAA competitive gymnastics for 5 years.  Prior to coming to MGW Stacy was the owner/Head Coach of TaylorMade Gymnastics Center in Georgia for 10 years.  She has two daughters on the competitive team and one son, and you will probably see in him in the Ninja Warrior classes!

Kaylee McFall: Kaylee has been involved in gymnastics and competive cheer her whole life. She currently attends Ivy Tech preparing for a career in Elementary Education. She is loves working with children and is eager to see where this path takes her.  Kaylee helps with our team programs as well as creating a tumbling program to help enhance gymnastics or cheerleading skills.

Suzie Zhou: Suzie, native Chinese, has been coaching at Madison Gymnastics World for 15+ years. Suzie has coached many girls at Levels 2-10. Under her guidance, many young girls have improved their performance sufficiently and won State Championships within a short period. Before coming to the United States, Suzie coached many top Chinese gymnasts in her 17 year coaching career. Suzie was awarded a degree of Bachelor of Physical Education in China. Suzie lives in Madison with her son, Qi Sheng, and her husband, Mike Qi.  Suzie also teaches our pre-school aged gymnasts as well as many recreational classes.

Jonathan Garlinghouse:  Jonny has been doing parkour and freerunning for the past 9 years.  MGW is the perfect place to teach those skills to beginners and younger boys in a safe enviroment.  Jonathan is the department manager for our boys NINJA WARRIOR classes, ages 5-18.  He is married and has 1 son, whom both come to classes with him from time to time.  He enjoys helping others succeed and creating new ideas.  We hope to expand this program to include classes for girls in the near future.

Shelia Gibson: Shelia has been involved in gymnastics for 20+ years and has taught for 12+ years. She was a cheerleader and dance squad member at Sullivan Jr. College for 2 years. Shelia is also safety certified and does continuing education of child development and fitness, as do all of MGW STAFF members. Her daughter, Ebony, competed through Level 8 at Gymnastics World.  Shelia is currently our birthday party department manager.  Let her help you to make your child's birthday memorable and fun at MGW!

Ashley Watkins: Ashley was a former gymnast at Madison Gymnastics World and was a Varsity Cheerleader at Southwestern High School.  She teaches recreational and tumbling classes, as well as helps with our team programs.  She is currently a student at Ivy Tech in Madison and is studying for a major in Early Childhood Education.  Ashley runs our OPEN GYMS and PLAY DAYS, come see her for those programs!

Ebony Inskeep: Ebony was a level 8 gymnast at Gymnastics World.  She played four years of college basketball while obtaining a degree in Sports Business.  She has Sports Administration for a Masters Degree.  She works in the athletic dept at MCHS and coaches various teams at the middle school and high school levels. You will see her around MGW from time to time.

Lindy Bear: Lindy works at our front desk and is heavily involved with our booster club.  She helps with registering kids for classes, paperwork, and just about anything else.  She has two children; a daughter, who is currently a member of our optional level team, and a son.  She is also the current President of the MGW Booster Club.   

MGW staff has over 300 YEARS  of combines experience!

Often times, coaches will need a sub for their class and MGW is very lucky to have subs who have knowledge in the sport of gymnastics! 

Below is a list of former coaches who are still apart of this program and are willing to sub at any given moment. 

Addie Rosenberger: Addie was a competitive gymnast for 5 years has been coaching gymnastics for around 7 years.  She began coaching at Gymnastics World in 2010 when she was a freshman at Hanover College.  She has helped coach all levels for the past four years.  In May 2014 she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Biology and is in the process of applying to schools to be a Physician Assistant.

Mike Qi: Mike was a professional dancer for 24 years and later became a dancing teacher at Tianjin Physical Education Institute of China. Mike received numerous awards for his outstanding performance. His extensive dance background has provided an excellent foundation for becoming a gymnastics instructor and team coach. He is a wonderful asset to the gymnastics community.

If you see a new face in the gym, they may be a visiting staff memeber or clinician; don't hesitate to ask about them at the front desk!
